Sanctuary and Epstein Chapel

Ark at night wo flash 150w

Our main Sanctuary is highlighted by a spectacular ark and its stained glass menorah which is rooted in Torah.  An enhanced sound system was installed in 2012 along with other refinements.  The Sanctuary seats 450 in comfortable, cushioned chairs.  During the High Holy Days, the Sanctuary walls retract to allow additional seating of 1,200.

Complementing the main Sanctuary is the Epstein Chapel.  This modern, semi-circular chapel accommodates 180 people on comfortable, cushioned bench seating in an intimate setting with beautiful views of our lush, landscaped courtyard.

  • Every seat is within 30 feet of the ark.
  • The Shabbat candlesticks were made in 1870 by Sheffield for use in Birmingham, England.
  • The eternal light, the ner tamid, was crafted about 1830 for a small synagogue in Austro-Hungary.
  • During the day the ner tamid is lit by solar cells that also charge batteries to keep it lighted at night.
