Reach out to congregants in times of illness, death, birth in the family or as needed.
Caring Community can make a significant difference in the lives of others through our gifts of time, commitment and skills. There are many opportunities to serve: write cards to acknowledge life cycle events, make phone calls to congregants, give a member a ride to Temple, visit someone in a hospital or help with a program. Your contribution will be most welcomed and appreciated.
Caring Community serves;
-
Friendly Visitors - Members visit residents in area nursing homes and deliver Holiday packages to residents six times during the year. Establish an ongoing relationship with a Jewish nursing home resident,
-
Post Hospital Telephone Follow-Up - Members call members of the congregation who have been hospitalized, once they return home,
-
Bereavement Telephone Follow-Up - Members call and/or visit congregants who have recently experienced a loss,
-
Transportation Assistance - Members provide occasional transportation to senior members who wish to attend Temple worship services and programs,
-
Shabbat / Holiday Connection - Members help arrange home hospitality so that our Temple families can share Shabbat and holiday celebrations with other families, and
-
Care Givers Relief - Members spend time with a patient, home-bound or in the hospital, providing relief to the care-giver so that they can care for themselves.
