When should my child start Religious School?

Your child should start in Kindergarten, but students are accepted in all grades. We introduce Hebrew to students in our Second grade program, and students who begin school later than Second grade will have to catch up on their Hebrew. Students entering school later than Fourth grade, with no previous Hebrew education, may need to obtain private tutoring in addition to attending class until they obtain parity with their class.

What are the Hebrew program goals?

The study of Hebrew is undertaken so that our students can become synagogue-functioning Jews. At the end of their formal Jewish education, students will be able to enter any liberal synagogue and participate in, or lead the service, and be able to understand the key words of the prayers.

 Will our children attend Services?

Students participate in T’fillot (services) as a regular part of the school curriculum. Students in grades K-6 participate in services regularly every Sunday, so they can develop familiarity and comfort with prayer and praying. There is also a service every afternoon for students in Grades 3-6.  Each 3rd through 6th grade student will participate in and or help to lead services every week. Parents are always welcome to join us for services.
