The Adult Choir, a volunteer group, rehearses on Tuesday evenings for the High Holy Days from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. Throughout the year, the Choir participates in special music Sabbaths, concerts with composers-in-residence and at the community cantors' concert.

The Archives Committee preserves the past, present and future of Temple Shalom through the archiving of any and all materials relating to the everyday functioning and special simchas of Temple Shalom. Beautification, Building & Grounds
This committee assesses our beautification needs and makes recommendations and approves and/or selects changes or enhancements to the interior and exterior of Temple Shalom as well as the acceptance of all gifts or donated items to our building. It recommends action for the maintenance of the building and grounds. This committee consults with contractors for various projects for repairs and participates in the bidding process. Budget & Finance
The Temple Shalom Budget Committee is responsible for working with the Temple's senior staff in the preparation of the budget for all temple revenue and expenses for each temple fiscal year (June 1 - May 31). Budget categories include Administration, Ritual, Programs, Youth Education, Youth Activities, Building and Grounds, and Capital. The Budget Working Group meets from January through March to discuss and prepare a budget that is submitted for approval to the Board of Trustees in April and to the Congregation at the annual meeting in May. This committee acts as a liaison between Temple Shalom and Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home and provides Temple members with information related to the purchase of cemetery plots and interments and maintains related records and makes recommendations on plot pricing and cemetery rules. We keep in touch with our college students by sending packages for a few times a year along with timely information to help strengthen Jewish identity and a relationship with Temple Shalom. The Connections Council plans activities and events and special services that are targeted to a variety of different segments within the Temple Shalom family. The Connections Council also creates programming to welcome and inform new and potential members about our Temple and help all members get to know each other and enjoy being a part of Temple life. We are the umbrella for committees such as Stay & Schmooze which provides activities for parents on Sunday during Religious School and Holiday Celebrations, which plans congregational celebrations during the year and support our LGBTQ Pride Committee, open to all members!

Early Childhood Education
Munchkin Minyan meets monthly on Friday nights at 6:00pm and special Saturday mornings at 10:30am for families with children 6 and under in our Rabiner Children's Library to celebrate Shabbat and on Sunday mornings and through our Tots Academy program (for which registration is required) for children 2-4 years of age. All members are encouraged to join a Havurah, a small group of Temple members who come together to learn, to socialize and to enjoy Jewish living with their families. Lifelong Learning Council
This Council, which oversees our Adult Education Committee, plans programs for our congregants to encourage everyone to learn and experience our Jewish traditions. Responsible for supporting several music programs throughout the year. From our Youth Choir, Ruach, recitals to the Composer-in-Residence Biannual program to the DFW Community Cantors' annual concert, this working group enjoys bringing fun, entertaining and spiritual events for the congregation. Temple Shalom Sisterhood provides an oneg (wine and cheese reception) every Shabbat before services to encourage Temple members and guests to gather and visit with each other.

Develops programs that inspire an appreciation of and a commitment to Judaism in our children as well as to providing a comfortable environment where our kids can enjoy time with their Jewish peers and friends. Purpose is to present to members who are 55 or older programs to entertain, inform and provide opportunities to gather together. We have had monthly Essers & Fressers restaurant dinners and have planned Bingo & Ice Cream Socials, attended plays, a trip to the race track, hosted guest speakers, attended an art gallery tour and had a tour of the Biblical Museum and the Bush Library, enjoyed song and dance programs, and an evening at the movies. Tikkun Olam/Social Action Council
Put our faith into action by reaching out to others in our community to make a difference. Through active participation in a variety of projects and programs we will accomplish our goal of Tikkun Olam--Helping to Repair the World as we pursue social justice. Programs include our Caregivers' Day Out program, our High Holy Day food drive, monthly cooking and serving for The Stewpot, Israel Connection, Embrace, our Jewish-Muslim-Christian Women's Fellowship Group, our DAI partnership, our new Shomrei Adamah committee which will be investigating ways to become more eco-friendly, educating students and families about our impact on the environment and the intersection of our Jewish values, our North Texas Food Bank Mitzvah opportunities and more. Would you like to provide input about ritual, observance and worship at Temple Shalom? We want to hear from you! Please contact our Worship Committee Chair Mark Fisher at email@example.com. You are invited to participate on the Worship Committee, which meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:00pm at Temple Shalom. This committee provides a forum for open discussion of worship and observance between the clergy and the congregation, serving as a conduit for congregant commentary and implementing specific tasks with relation to ritual, observance and worship. The Holiday Celebrations Committee plans Temple-wide Hanukkah and Shavuot celebrations. Each celebration is a one-time event that does not require a lengthy time commitment. Young Adult Connection
